Confessions from Copenhagen and stuff
Hey guys!
Remember me? Marieke, 18, kinda chubby, slightly crazy, laughs too loudly?
Yeah? Well, it’s your lucky day, because I’m back!
You see, on
Monday I’m going on an adventure. An adventure to Ghana! My first time being
outside of Europe, I am going there to find myself and hopefully God.... Ehm, no,
sorry, no spiritual mumbo-jumbo nonsense from me. I’m going because it seems
fun and exciting and new and scary and because I need some of that. I’m going
because I CAN, because I’m spoiled and privileged and I want to see and experience something different.
I’m going because I want to prove to myself that I have guts and girl-balls.
I’m going because I want new exciting foreign friends, and I want to breathe in
the air in a new place, and try disgusting foods (They eat CAT) and get a
wicked sunburn, and be a weird white person in a sea of black. I’m going
because I’m sososo excited and I have enjoyed everything so far; the awful
injections, the gigantic malaria pills, the emailing back-and-forth and the booking
of the plane tickets. I’m even enjoying myself right now, right in the middle
of, of course, what else than, the
trouble with the visa application.
Trouble
with the visa application you say? That is so unusual and totally
not-Marieke-like. You see, I am currently in a hotel room in Copenhagen (The
one in Denmark) because there were some misunderstandings and mistakes and then
some tears, and because I’m leaving on Monday
the only thing to do was to go to the embassy myself and fix it. So
that’s what I’m gonna do tomorrow and then hopefully catch a plane back to
Norway in the evening. I don’t even have a ticket back. I’m STRANDED in
Denmark, walking around like a chicken without its head trying to maybe catch
my plane to Ghana on Monday and actually be able to enter the country. Needless
to say; I love my life. I guess I gotta learn to roll with the punches.
So that’s
it, the ‘’I’m back post.’’ On Saturday you can expect the thrilling tale
entitled ‘’2012; the year of Marieke’s perpetual bad luck.’’ Tune in, because
you don’t wanna miss that. It’s all breaking stuff and messing stuff up and
tears and feeling sorry for myself. It’s FUN.
Btw, I got
lost trying to take the train to the hotel and ended up having to take a cab. YES,
so far so… confused.

hellogoodbye
1. Today is exactly 4 months since the last time I blogged and I’VE MISSED IT! Every time something funny/embarrassing/awesome/emotional happened I wanted to blog, and I tried, but then I just… didn’t. And that has been pretty nice actually so that’s why:
2. I’m not going to start again. Not now at least. I guess I’m over it. I’m not angry, I’m not annoyed, I’m not too busy (I HATE that excuse) just... done. Sorry, if you don’t like it, congratulations if you thought I was making a fool out of myself. But:
3. I’m not going to delete anything. I like the thought of these past three lives just floating over the interwebs. Maybe I’m someday gonna see my own face in Thailand on some billboard for fat-free milk! Or, you know, full-fat milk in my case. That would be cool.
4. Maybe I’ll be back. You can count on that. I have a lot of exciting things planned after I finish Norwegian high school, and I think that my blog will be a good way to keep track of everything that hopefully will happen. So, check in every other month, dude.
5. If you really miss me, check out my twitter. I’m not that funny, but I like retweeting.
Iluvu4eva, readers, especially the hardcore ones that keep checking in. Please forgive my failure and choose one of these songs

Because I am very slow when it comes to music and artists I just found out about this song four days ago. Because you can’t see someone’s talent until you hear them live, you should watch this video.
Bernhoft is a Norwegian one-man band, and he is purely awesome. He is so awesome that he was featured on Ellen. Sure, I’ve seen his picture before, in flashes in ads and on talkshows, but music is just not something I’m good at, in so I never bothered to try and google the dude. Plus, you know, I have prejudices against anyone with hipster hair.
I especially love the first minute! Watch the musicvideo here.

I’m procrastinating…. and also a bit narcissistic.
I think this website might be my new obsession. Help.
I'm also reading John Green's Looking for Alaska, which is GREAT! Really :)
HIIIIIIIII!
HELLO PEEPS! I figured out how I can make gifs and then post them on my blog! YES, technology has not failed me after all. Enjoy staring at my face.
18 days is a long time. Especially when you ARE 18, and everything goes by too fast. Deadlines, fun nights, friendships, days of doing nothing. They’re all gone before you’ve finished your essay, talked to everyone, told people you kinda love ‘em or finished watching that playlist on the Youtube. So these almost three weeks, seemed like almost three days. In other words, I’m getting old.
I took my ‘’I’m too interesting for my own blog’’ break, a mandatory break for every blogger. Apparently I take those everyother month. But, it’s the internet, which means that it’s cool. It’s chill. It’s [insert a word the youth of today uses, because I’m getting old.]
